About Course

This module introduces participants to gender equality advocacy as a practical pathway for creating and sustaining social change. It begins by exploring gender discrimination, stereotypes, sexism, micro-inequities, and intersectionality, before connecting these issues to European gender equality policies and data. Building on Kurt Lewin’s model of change, the module guides learners through the stages of “unfreezing,” implementing, and “refreezing” change, with a strong focus on advocacy planning, problem diagnosis, resource mapping, goal-setting, ally-building, message development, and evaluation. It also highlights the role of women leaders and self-advocacy in challenging discriminatory behaviours and embedding more equal practices in organisations, communities, and institutions.
