RESILIENCE & SELF-CARE: How to overcome the gender power gap through building resilience, self-care and adapting to change.

The goal of this assignment is to examine where you are with your self-care in each area and to set specific goals and a plan for how to improve your self-care.

Β

Steps:

  1. βœ… First, explore the four basic dimensions of self-care (physical, mental, psychological, and social).
  • On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate yourself on each dimension in terms of satisfaction? (0 means lowest satisfaction, 10 means absolute satisfaction)
  • What specifically could you improve in each dimension?
  • What could you do more of and what could you do less of?
  1. βœ… Now set yourself at least 1 or 2 specific and measurable goals for each of the dimensions that you want to achieve in the next month.

Examples of goals:

  • Physical dimension: “I will exercise for at least 10 minutes every day.”
  • Mental dimension: “I will end each evening by writing down at least three things I am grateful for.”
  • Mental dimension: “I will read at least one book every month.”
  • Social dimension: “I will call/write at least one friend each week and arrange to meet.”
  1. βœ… Set a specific plan for how you will achieve your goals. (i.e. when, where, how you will engage in the activities.)
  2. βœ… At the end of each day, write down a short reflection.
  • What did I do/not do well?
  • What do I want to keep/change?
